Amazing Tides

As I wind my way back and through Lubec Maine, the tide swings this week were something to be seen.  Normally the break wall, the man made barrier that separates the fast moving Narrows from the town dock and mooring field, is well above the high tide line.  So much so that you often see people walking along the top so they can get a closer look at the seals and the gulls playing in the eddy line.  Well, not this week.  Record tides pushed the water over the barrier and created a white water rapid during the fast moving ebb.  Here are some pictures from the time of high tide to five hours later at near low water mark.
