Mission Statement:

The Journey of Adventure Travel

"Wabi-sabi is the most conspicuous and characteristic feature of traditional Japanese beauty and it "occupies roughly the same position in the Japanese pantheon of aesthetic values as do the Greek ideals of beauty and perfection in the West." "if an object or expression can bring about, within us, a sense of serene melancholy and a spiritual longing, then that object could be said to be wabi-sabi." "[Wabi-sabi] nurtures all that is authentic by acknowledging three simple realities: nothing lasts, nothing is finished, and nothing is perfect."

To me, taking this and other definitions of Wabi Sabi, 'Wabi Sabi Your Life' means to apply the principles of beauty, simplicity, and a sense of Spiritual growth to your daily life, thus finding peace, love, and happiness in what already exists.  I have personally been on this journey for over two and a half years, and it wasn't until I came upon these two words that I was really able to articulate what I have been doing and what my life has become about.  As I move forward, Wabi Sabi Your Life, the website and practice, will be "The Journey into Spiritual Discovery and Life Simplification through Human Powered Travel"

Here on this site, I will continue writing about my adventure travels as I attempt to pursue my own Spiritual growth and life simplification  -- in the process of doing so, I will talk about my Spiritual Journey,  as well as seek other inspirational stories that tie closely to my overall theme, sharing them with users and building a new community of like minded individuals.  I will delve into ways that adventure travel and immersion in nature can help individuals reconnect with nature and spirit;  how the process of doing this Simply, can then transfer to your day to day life.  How changing the way we eat, moving to natural items and simple meals, is not only a path to financial freedom, but better health and a more sustainable way of feeding the planet.  How the movement from needing the next best thing, to simply finding happiness and usefulness in what you have or what has already been used can lead to even greater financial freedom and remove that feeling that you need more, more, and more.

During my adventure travels, I seek out forums where I can do presentations and talks that highlight the power of living Simply and the great benefits derived from human powered transportation.  To date, my choice of transportation has been a single Nigel Dennis Kayak and a two wheeled Salsa Fargo bike.

The combination of my adventure travels and my pursuit of simplicity and Spirit, has provided me with a unique mechanism to talk about social change and issues that are relevant to us all, issues that transcend political boundaries. I actively seek out groups where I can do presentations and talks on my travels and the lessons I have learned.  My path has been rocky, coming from a place of dark to a place of light.  I hope to share this with others, inspiring them ever so slightly to make changes in their own lives, changes that help to awaken them to a new and vibrant way of living.

If you find value in this site and wish to help, please donate to my efforts whatever you can spare.  I am actively looking for speaking engagements where we as a group can collectively share our journeys.
