2012 - The Path

I have struggled to think about what my last post of 2011 should be.  Many thoughts have run through my head and my heart.  I could write about what was the single piece of gear that impacted me the most this year (SALSA FARGO).  I could write about the amazing people that entered my life and changed me forever (To many to list).  I perhaps I could jot down some tips on how to simplify your life (get rid of the stuff that you don't need).  Ultra light travel is important to me, so how about an article on that (travel with smaller bags, then you carry less)? Shoot, what about the most amazing place I traveled to this year? (Santat Fe, The Redwoods, Winter Solstice at Stonehenge,...)

I could write about all of these and more, because they have all impacted me in very profound ways.  My journeys, my life, the people I meet, the way I travel, the places I get to see, well, WOW, what can I say that gives it all justice.  People talk to me about making changes in their lives, about pursuing new passions and redefining who they are.  Bloggers write about how the world is changing and in order to survive, we must become 'free-thinkers', moving beyond the bounds that previously constrained who we are and what we do.

Then, don't even get me started about trying to pick one single picture that I could post, that would sum up the beauty I have witnessed this year.  NO, that one is even harder than the above thoughts.  I looked, and reviewed, and thought, and just got so frustrated about selecting one single image.

Then, as I was about to give up, one image jumped up and it encapsulated everything I wanted to say.  One image that expressed how I feel about life.  An image who's message is as inspirational in what it means to me as what it can mean to others.

Simply put, it is all about the PATH.  It is about taking one step at a time and doing whatever it is that you want to do; achieving whatever it is that you want to achieve.  The PATH of life is hilly with huge highs and big lows.  The lows feel like they will never end and the highs make us want to push on.  The path is twisty such that we can see where we are today -- we might even have a glimpse of where we will be tomorrow; but we definitely can't see any farther into the future until we begin to move forward, following the PATH in front of us.

I leave you then with this message for the closing of 2011 and the beginning of 2012.  Follow YOUR OWN PATH.  Be an authentic soul in whatever you want to do.  Love a lot; Laugh from the bottom part of your belly; Choose to simply be HAPPY; Dream big and then take one step at a time to becoming the next best incarnation of your most perfect self.

Much love to all
