Challenge Yourself

It is easy to go out shooting, armed with multiple bodies, and all sorts of lenses.  You are sure to find some combination that works for capturing what you come across.  However, if you want to push yourself, to grow not only in your vision but also your mastery of your gear, then every now and then, grab a single body and a single lens and go make images.  Figure out how to make it work.  The simple act of not pulling or pushing a zoom that gives you some visual spread, but instead, actually having to think about how to capture an image with a single lens... Well that is sure to help grow your skill.  If you really want to double down, then do the exercise with a wide angle lens and see where you get.

Today, I grabbed the D800, my trusty Zeiss 21/2,8 and the little Hooligan and went in search of images that captured the day.
